[Gift] Limits

I laughed so hard. Really did, like my brain has been bashed in so much there is mere, good joy in playing with a toy train car for toddlers.

In regards to the image of Aryanne I posted, which seems to have gotten the most emotional flack on Twitter, maybe it's because Twitter doesn't allow much room for text and people and I didn't comment my tidbit comments on DA (and Facebook and Derpibooru), and simply reacted without taking a breath and thinking logically and investigating (and finding my tidbit text). Honestly, by mere mathematical logic alone a disclaimer shouldn't be necessary but maybe should've known people would want/need it anyway (though doubtful that'd help).

Copy-pasted again, here's my full disclosed response on it:

Please point out where I supported Nazism. And describe where I praised Aryanne for being one, and follow up with a logic-only based response that the mere existence of drawing said fictional character indicates I am all for Nazism... especially when I explicitly stated to the contrary.

You are asking for her censorship when her character and mere existence as a fictitious scribble of digital colors and lines hurts nothing and nobody. She's become a symbol of free speech and expression.

By the reasoning you've given, all drawings of Queen Chrysalis as not portraying as a villain means supporting the spread of selfish draining of other's love. And all drawings of Rainbow Dash supports laziness.

You're not distinguishing the difference between actual support of an active ideology (which requires a statement to be made directly within relevant context) and what's essentially just this piece of art. Has education degraded so poorly that it instills this belief that mere existence is blind support and obedience to something rather than thinking for oneself?

Contrary, the emotional thinking of this kind is directly responsible to why Nazism was able to rise in the first place.

.

All human beings are born naturally lazy, selfish, not just wanting to survive, but survive well, and when possible at the expense of others, and therefore evil. It's in our instinctive behavior, including babies. You are just as evil as Hitler himself and equal to a child rapist murderer. That is equality. Either that fact is recognized, or you believe in "those people" as beneath and separate from yourself, which would place you right in the same belief regime of the Nazis... pure, better than others; just picking a different category to fit humans in.

An overwhelming number of Nazis weren't even racist, and almost all Germany had no idea what happened in concentration camps, not until after the war and they were forced to watch films and see them in person. You ask the motivation of individuals involved: "It was my job." "It was my duty." "I was obeying orders." "Feeding my family and paving the way for the future." And in Hitler's eyes, Jews (among others) were evil; he assumed he was doing a sacrificial service for all Mankind.

The wrong that allowed the Nazi actions to thrive however was society cultivated to not even know or understand what evil even was.

If you cannot discern what is evil, why, or why evil deeds are committed, you cannot hope to recognize it when you follow it. And if you believe that mere existence is can be so volatile without substance and erroneously think that raw hate is all there is behind any sense of evil, you have been likewise cultivated as part of the flock itself, and leading humanity to repeat history.

.

My drawing and posting of Aryanne without supporting Nazism and even denouncing it especially here and now, is evidence I have a keen understanding of real propaganda and problem within, and a mind to logically think for myself and believe others can also still think for themselves, in particular without emotional thinking. And I'm capable of separating the ill intentions behind the Nazi movement and, as I stated, the secular military machine produced with all it's faults and achievements. And though not shown directly, I can distinguish ill action and wrongdoing separately from the individual enacting.

Evil is not a free pass excuse to hate. I'd love to hate stupidity and purposeful ignorance, to hate the inconsiderate, like drivers putting myself and others needlessly in danger for their impatience, but I recognize that too is my own sense of wrongful evil. And evil should be resisted and fought against wherever reason fails. Not only do I denounce Nazism and all it stands for, unlike a majority of modern civilization, I know for certain if I lived in Germany in those times, I'd be in the tiny rare minority that would refuse hailing Hitler, refuse joining the party, and I'd be criticized, if not persecuted, for doing so.

(Spoiler warning)

In case you were wondering my thoughts on the movie... . .

BEST PART The best part was definitely the animation, everything seemed magical and breathtaking from beginning to end. Combined with the audio, it was very easy to get sucked in, strong escapism. The second best part were the songs, though the earlier solos overshadowed the later songs when all the characters sing together, and the main villain song (with accompanying choreography was atrocious). I'm not talking about the singer who was fine, it was the lyrics and flow was just terrible. I am pretty glad they got rid of the Elements concept, giving the characters a fresh, different, and more freely open exploration.

I also give big kudos to production for staying away from modern social and political issues and, while I think they were silly and could've been improved a lot more (i.e. making earth ponies strong in heart and/or muscle and determined but be misinterpreted as caveman bullying or being dull) sticking to their own fantasy problems. Also was really glad that Hitch wasn't a male doofus. I was really afraid he was going to be more like Sprout. Turns out he's letter-to-the-law heroic, skilled but imperfect (if absent-minded) in final execution.

MEH I do not like Zipp's voice. It's going to take me a long time to get used to it. It felt forced, I think the voice director was asking the actress Liza Koshy was fishing for something that was raspy and deep but it didn't work out well with the character, sounded too old, mature, and tiring. Everypony else seemed spot-on. As far as the world goes, this originally started as a G4 reboot and production knew they wanted separated pony types. Then it evolved to have new character cast (a very, very good decision, something I fully encouraged). The tie-in to G4 was a late bone toss (also a good idea to a degree, something I also suggested). But I was fully aware we weren't going to have Hippogriffs, Dragons, Discord, etc. I think keeping that connection might've helped save this production and keep it relevant to the fandom, even if most of the fandom (including myself) were a bit taken off by the extreme distance of G4 and G5.

So questions like what happened in deep history, where everyone else went, and all that didn't phase me.

THE BAD Even that aside though, the fact these 3 pony civilizations were so close to each other (seemingly only a few hours, or 1 day's journey) the fact nopony bothered trying to invade, spy, get close to, or observe the others was really off-putting. Maybe such a detail was cut for time, but I think something more prominent preventing the pony types from reaching each other would've been better. It got weird with the different characters catching up to the main group. For an MLP movie, It was the best produced, but it just... I don't know, seemed lacking somewhere. I think it was the fact everything leaned on so many tropes and references that, even though the story flowed well, it seemed too predictable. And nothing really jumped out to me to get attached. Sure it was funny, laughed a lot, even gasped a few times. But it was just a good movie. I think the premise was fine, the execution was excellent, but just missing that spark. Like, none of the new characters were developed in a way that made me want to rearrange my 'Top 20 Fav MLP Characters' list. Hopefully the following series changes some of that.

OVERALL: 7.5 / 10

If you don't know what I'm talking about, for the past few years Derpibooru hosts a giant group photo pic including most any OC to join in. To participate, they're allowing canonical (or near enough) pony and pony-sized Equestrian species to be part of the image, from a transparent background, traditional or digital within reason. See details in this link.

For those who have trouble getting an image appropriate to participate, I'm going to open 2 free slots here to draw OCs to be in the Derpibooru Collaboration Project. In addition to their usual rules:

  • Canonical pony species only

  • No Alicorns

  • No extreme color gradients

Comment with a pic reference for your OC, tell me more about them. Not necessarily first come first serve. Comment your OC and a link to a gallery with a more info. I'm here to help you out if you're having trouble; so if you can already draw pretty well, or you have tons of money you can easily buy commissions, please don't take advantage of this.

(I may or may not open up 1-2 more slots).

Are you a fan of the dark side of MLP and want to see a group of girls reflecting real psychological disorders try and be friends? Enjoy dark humor and want to support my art? Then go to the video link, Like and Subscribe!

My Disturbing Darlings is part of an original cartoon animatic series I've been producing, with a team of nearly a dozen other people.

.

When Amy Freda advertises cheap, after-school babysitting, her ad attract the parents of 5 young girls who need psychiatric care, not daycare. My Disturbing Darlings features the [mis]adventures of these girls inspired by real people and real psychological disorders.

Starting out of a recently inherited home, Amy dreams to one day run her own daycare center full of innocent, angelic children. But her naive denial will ensure Star, Parsley, Summer, Guts, and Jupiter engage together in a great deal of horrifying, cruel, devilry of a chaotic madhouse. Meanwhile, her boyfriend Keen Houston becomes fully aware of the nature of these girls, but can never get Amy to see the light. And some of the girls delight in tormenting him so.

This is the pilot episode where each girl is interviewed individually, showing random, short snippets of their interaction. The contents of this video are intended for an audience 14 and older. It contains swearing, torture, violence, abuse, neglect, mental illness, and crude, dark humor. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
